Hello there! My name is Matt Fellows (he/him)

I am a mental health practitioner actively working on my LPCC licensure for the state of Minnesota. I studied at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology before transferring to Minnesota, where I received a Masters degree in counseling psychology from The University of St. Thomas. Since 2016 I have worked primarily with the Department of Human Services in Minnesota, where I function as a behavior analyst and clinical therapist. Within that role, my clients are individuals with a wide variety of acute or high-needs issues. I have also had the wonderful opportunity of exploring and educating on the relationship between popular culture and mental health, where I utilize Marvel’s Cinematic Universe to address a wide variety of mental health issues in clients who enjoy or connect with those characters. As stated, I am currently endeavoring to complete my LPCC licensure in the near future so that I can expand the work I do into a private practice setting. I am also a writer in the field of psychology and have contributed works to several books, including Integrating Geek Culture Into Therapeutic Practice and The Psychology of Pokémon. My favorite aspect about working in this field is assisting people in discovering and growing meaningful connections between themselves and the world around them, building skills that allow for a more fulfilling life, and providing a safe and validating space for people to explore that which is most important to my clients.

Personally, I was born and raised in Minnesota, where I lived until moving around the Midwest for my professional education. I am an avid outdoorsman and fisherman, with a special love of fly fishing the North Shore region of Minnesota. In my downtime I enjoy writing, playing video games, hiking with my dog Thea, and watching Star Wars. I am eager to work with you, and hope to hear from you soon!
